I'm back! I got back into my blog! I don't know how! I don't know why! But Blogspot recognized my password and all is right again.
Please, please, tell me what you are reading!

Congrats on the powers of technology having mercy upon you.
I'm rereading Interview With the Vampire because it's like ramen noodles: fast, easy, and hot, and it soothes my end-of-the-semester burnout. I need something right now that I don't have to think about too much, 'cause my fragile little mind can't take it.
Also reading Lynn Flewelling's blog like the squealing fangirl I am. She just posted the cover for book four. Not how I picture Seregil, but dude. Book four. It merits a round of gleeful bouncing.
Yay, the bewildering gods of the computer have relented. And I think I can post this with a name, too, instead of as Anonymous--they must be in an especially generous mood.
I'm reading Little Dorrit by Dickens still, because I've spent most of my time frantically avoiding writing papers as the semester draws to a close. I really haven't picked up anything new.
Yes! It worked!
just finished "Lulu Meets God and Doubts Him" - liked it. just started "Fresh Fields" today.
Just finishing up the Steve Martin bio (no, Thank you, Christine) and am debating whether to next try "Uncommon Reader" or "Golden Compass". Feel free to weigh in with your opinion as the majority will rule when I leave work tomorrow with one in my hand.
Golden Compass! Golden Compass! Please, please, read The Golden Compass! It'll make the decision about which two books to read next be really easy--it'll be The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. See? No pesky decisions to make, you can just enjoy reading. The Golden Compass!
Don, it's not like you're going to see the movie. What's the rush? Be the first on your block to read The Uncommon Reader by Alan Bennett. It is a very fun, very short read that someone who's knocked abround bookstores as long as you have should have a crack at.
Golden Compass-1
Uncommon Reader-1
Anyone want to break the tie?
PS to Danika (aka drd): thank you so much for the copies of Pullman's books. Oliv started Golden Compass today!
Insomniac, are you still with us? Do you see Erin's ramen noodle simile? I think you'd really like Interview with a Vampire after tackling The Historian.
Oh my gosh! That is so scary!!! I would freak if that happened to me. It does sound like a security issue. Hmmmm...
Let us know how things go!
Just to get some semblance of familiarity back, it's Tuesday, so...
I lied, I'm not reading Mark Twain's Letters From Hawaii right now after all. I've decided to reread Black Boy, and I'm more than halfway through now. It's perhaps even more inspiring than I remember it (having read it for the first time when I was about 14).

Thank you, Lisa. Black Boy is inspiring, but difficult. I remember a fire, the killing of a kitten, small children by a latrine, and hunger so sharp it makes the author dizzy. That's Black Boy, isn't it?
For those of you who've strayed into these meandering comments after many stale days, and since it IS Tuesday as Lisa points out, what are you reading?

^^I reposted that in here so I could respond.
Yep, that's it, Christine. All of the stuff you mentioned happens closer to the beginning of the book, though. It's how he transcends all of it that I find inspiring, and this time around I've got more biographical information about the author (bought the new book w/ the P.S. and everything), so I have new insight into his life, etc. I'll probably finish the book by tomorrow or Friday, then I'll start in on Twain.
