Jim watched Siskel and Ebert for years and years, usually taping a show if he was out on Saturday night, or catching the rerun on Sunday morning. Then after Siskel's death, he continued watching Ebert and Roeper. After Roeper stepped in for a sick Ebert, the other seat was filled by a rotating set of visting reviewers, the best of which were The New York Times' A. O. "Tony" Scott and The Chicago Tribune's Michael Phillips. Many, many Saturday nights have found us laughing at the reviews of bad movies and the banter between the two reviewers. Now, the show is ending. Jim and I watched the last one together on Saturday night. Jim will never again say, "The boys are on in ten minutes." I was sad when Siskel died, and now I am similarly sentimental about the ending of this long-standing show.
If you take the time to read Ebert's essay on the end of the show (address below), do watch the funny outtakes from YouTube at the end, but know that they are not for children's ears.

Yes! My first successful picture in a post!
Kudos, Christine! (Um, if you want to sneak a picture of Michael Phelps or Angelina Jolie in there next, you go on with your bad picture-posting self!!)
It's lovely, Christine.

Very nice, Christine. And I have no trouble seeing your little Moby Dick book pile picture, so I think that problem is limited to our friend Insomniac (sorry!).
Very good.
The picture is BACK! Drd, I have lots of problems - but at least this one is fixed!
