I often have a few books with bookmarks in them at once. I enjoy classics more than contemporary works of fiction, often read historical fiction, and love to get glimpses into other people's lives by reading memoirs and biographies.
The author of 1996's Infinite Jest died last week. I have never read any of his work but am interested in his essays. Has anyone read him? Any comments on his work or suggestions for titles to read?

There was a good article about him in the NYT - it talked about how his work will be remembered, and where he succeeded and at the same time failed. And how he fits in to our generation. I'll find the link. He wrote quite a bit on tennis.

It was an article called "The Best Mind of His Generation" - it ran on Sunday in the NYT.
Thanks, Sophia. Anyone else?
