Finished Detour

I finished reading Detour: My Bipolar Road Trip in 4-D by Lizzie Simon. It's the fourth memoir by a woman dealing with mental illness that I've read in the last month, and it is the least of them. She was quite young when she wrote it (early twenties?). She sets out on a road trip to meet other young people with bipolar disorder who are "success stories." She wants to meet people who are writing and creating and living big despite their illness and seems reluctant to admit that the best way to stay healthy with this disorder is to keep things smooth, regular, and calm. Quite the opposite from what Hornbacher, author of Madness, advocates.
