On the Read Again

I am such a re-reader. Not only do I go back to the books I love over and over, but I tend to reread a book about the same time of year I read it before. Kim Sunee's Trail of Crumbs (memoir with plenty of food and travel writing) has been catching my eye as I've passed my bookshelf lately, so I picked it up the other night. I fell right into it again. Looking back at my posts from last year, I see that I read it at exactly this time. It is the sweetly sad story of this young woman who had a serious relationship with the founder and CEO of L'Occitane (swanky bath and beauty products from the south of France). She lived the big money and travel life for a while but knew that this love wasn't forever.

I also finished a reread of Nigel Slater's Kitchen Diaries which is food and recipes for a whole year. Lovely, seasonal, and cozy. Don, you have his memoir, Toast, at home. Read it. I think you'll like it.
