I checked out former Poet Laureate (2004-2006) Ted Kooser's slim volume of poems called Valentines. I breezed through it the other night before bed. He's charming and accessible and not unlike another favorite of mine, Billy Collins.
I am reading Jimmy Carter's We Can Have Peace in the Holy Land. Also from the library. A couple of chapters in. I'm hoping to learn a lot.
I've started Jerry Spinelli's Stargirl. Got it for Christmas. Just barely in it.
Had started Doris Grumbach's Fifty Days of Solitude many days ago. A January/February read for being holed up. Don't know if I'll finish this time. Am drawn to the idea of being in a Northeastern seaside house by myself. Fifty days would be too long, but a weekend might be nice if I ever could stop being scared of serial killers.

Christine,
You have made me so very very jealous of your reading time. :(
