Oscar Weekend

Will you watch the Academy Awards? Do you have a favorite actor/actress up for something? Did you see all five movies nominated for Best Picture (Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon, Milk, The Reader, Slumdog Millionaire)? Do you fill out a ballet and play along? Do you go to an annual Oscar party? Do you watch the red carpet stuff? Do tell!

You have no idea how I fill out a ballet. But it's probably not something you want to see.

MY EYES!!! MY EYES!!!!!!!!!!!

Mwa ha haaaa....

Don, I totally see you being in a ballet about cheese. I do. It will be set in Iowa and also feature library cats.

Omg, I'm totally writing a ballet!

(Sorry Christine, I've seen NONE of the top movies, and have nothing to offer. Heh.)

Well, how the poo did that happen? Hmm, now I'm "that guy." You know, the one who double posts his comments. Drat. Now I HAVE to add something of moderate value.

I heard from a couple different people that while Benjamin Button was long, it was pretty good. Yup.

What the *&$&? Now it's triple posted?

Christine, help a sister out and delete those, por favor? *flutters eyelashes* I would be ever so grateful... :D

I will even say this: I hear that the Academy is saying they want to cancel the red carpet, in hopes that more people will tune in to the actual awards show. I don't know if they're actually going to do it or not, but it's been in talks. So...does this mean they're admitting that people don't watch it for the actual show but for to see who's wearing what? Maybe they should shorten the stupid things and more people would watch. Or not have it end so freakin' late on a Sunday night, hmm? Also, they're having Robert Pattinson present an award, presumably so more "young people" will watch.

Yes, I read internet gossip sites all day. What?!

I got nuthin' on the subject of the movies--haven't seen 'em, and the only reason I knew the Academy Awards were coming up was because of this post.
But I will pay big money to see Don fill out Martha's ballet.

Great to see some activity on the blog again, triple posts included!

I will be watching the award show tomorrow night with my family. Jim used to do the whole ballot thing with his friends for many years in a row, but that has gone to the wayside since most are now parents or busy with work.

I like the whole thing: watching people arrive, seeing who's there, hearing the speeches, watching the clips of the films and remembering those in the industry who died in the last year.

Yeah Don, fill out my ballet... *wiggles eyebrows* Geez Danika, you're such a weirdo.

Anywho, I don't watch the Oscars, I tend to read the recap and look at posted pics of people in their clothes (online).

This year, one of my favorite sites (Jezebel.com) is doing a liveblog so, I may just follow that as I do other stuffs. Although I'm on tenterhooks to find out the winner for best lighting technician in a foreign documentary!!!1!!1!

*snorfle*

P.S. I'm going to be at the cat circus in 2 1/2 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes, the CAT CIRCUS! I RUB YOUR FACE IN TEH AWESOME.

I watched up to the part w/ Tina Fey and Steve Martin (while grading papers), then I breathed a sigh of relief once their bit was over so that I didn't have to watch any more. I don't necessarily *hate* Hollywood and their awards shows, but it's not really anything I've ever had an intense interest in either. Now the TV's still on for noise, but I'm in a different room doing this. I have no clue who/what's been winning. And I still have way too much work left to do for school.

I thought the Tina Fey/Steve Martin bit was funny, and Ben Stiller making fun of Joaquin Phoenix (sp?) was too, but a little long. The musical medley with Beyonce was terrible! Go, Slumdog! Another great movie that I'll never be able to see.

Re: Cat Circus

Too much awesome/trainwreck to describe on blog. Simply MUST do in person.

P.S. They sold merch. I now own a "Rock Cats LIVE!!" t-shirt. You are all jeliz H8ters.

I didn't watch the Oscars. I see who won now, and I guess like every year, I don't care. But there were some purty dresses :)
