I am reading War for the Oaks, by Emma Bull, for the library speculative fiction group. It's lovely, urban fantasy, the Fay Folk going to war in Minneapolis. That's very cool for me, because I've actually been there. I've been at Minnehaha Falls where the two faerie courts are going at it. I know what the character is talking about when she says the two seasons are road mending and snow removal. Great fun.

Just finished "Coop" and liked it a very lot. It had way enough non-fictiony things about chickens and buildin' stuff but also enough thinkin-about-things in it to give you a bit more. He is also a good writer and capable of puttin' enough lyricy, poety stuff in to even suit Christine.
Am now reading "The Big One. It's about fishin'.Not as a metaphor or anything, just fishing.

Hey DRD! I have also been to Minnehaha Falls. Not at (as you say) but to.

FINE, Don. Whatever preposition pleases you most.
And yes, I know. You grew up there. I grew up in the back behind of nowhere. I never get to read about my specific back behind of nowhere in books.
So this is cool for me, okay?

Danika's "back behind"...

I became a vegetarian in Minnesota, so can I be in your club, Don and Danika?

Don, due to your excellent review, I will read Coop. If it's non-fictiony enough for you and poety enough for me, it's gotta be good.

Hmmm... finished "Dead in Dallas" or whatever it was called - very enjoyable. I'm sort of looking for something to read - I thought I had a bunch of books lined up but can't find anything...
