Christine,
For the Essay Composition class I'm taking this summer, I need to choose a memoir (pending teacher approval). As I'm not usually a memoir kind of reader, would you be willing to post a request for recommendations on your blog? Most of your readers are bigger into nonfiction than I am. Also, please feel free to weigh in yourself!
Love,
Danika

The Liar's Club. Just kidding.
I haven't read it myself, but I have heard *countless* good things about Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking, which I believe is about grieving the loss of her husband.

How 'bout "Coop"?
It's nonfiction I enjoyed and then recommended to Christine!
Danika, have you read A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius yet? Seems to me you had that on a syllabus once upon a time, but it was dropped. That would be my suggestion. It is awesomely awesome. And flawed. But mostly awesome.
Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt or Rescuing Patty Hearst by Virginia Holman.
