I often have a few books with bookmarks in them at once. I enjoy classics more than contemporary works of fiction, often read historical fiction, and love to get glimpses into other people's lives by reading memoirs and biographies.
I'm going to say I'm thankful for all of the books I own that I HAVEN'T read yet, so that I always have something to fall back on when I don't have anything to read.*
I'm thankful for the four books I bought at a used bookstore that are sitting on my coffee table; books that I'll probably read during Christmas break after finishing the Palin book (Night by Elie Wiesel, Orwell's 1984 and Animal Farm, and Heller's Catch-22). I'm also thankful for my job at B&N which affords us so many reader perks! :D (p.s. Thanks, Don, for the tip on the Name/URL option which for some reason I have been overlooking all this time.)
I'm also grateful for Advanced Reader's Copies of books that I sometimes stumble upon at B&N--things that I otherwise might not have seen. Two very favorites have been Trail of Crumbs by Kim Sunee and The Anthologist by Nicholson Baker.

*not bloody likely
I'm thankful for the big stack of cookbooks and travel books that I have checked out from the library right now.

I'm thankful for textbooks I can fake having read after a quick skim...I know that makes me a bad person.
