- I often have a few books with bookmarks in them at once. I enjoy classics more than contemporary works of fiction, often read historical fiction, and love to get glimpses into other people's lives by reading memoirs and biographies.

Fifty chefs tell what they would eat for their last meal if they could plan it. I found the idea more interesting than the execution. There is a portrait of each chef to go along with his or her description of the meal. Some portraits are great. Some are duds. The food descriptions run from simple and humble to extravagant and indulgent. The photographer/interviewer also asked what kind of music they would play and where they would set the meal. People's dreams run to the same kinds of things: fine wine, mozart, U2, seaside, family, chocolate.
