Had to go back to the original story again after Jamrach. It is so dire and shocking that I just can't wrap my brain around it. This young adult book by Philbrick (adapted from his longer In the Heart of the Sea) does an excellent job of summarizing the two existing first-hand accounts by cabin boy Thomas Nickerson and first mate Owen Chase.
