I often have a few books with bookmarks in them at once. I enjoy classics more than contemporary works of fiction, often read historical fiction, and love to get glimpses into other people's lives by reading memoirs and biographies.
I just finished Shakespeare's Twelfth Night last night. I suspect that if that were the only play of his we still had, nobody would ever read Shakespeare. It was silly and improbable, and, except for a few good lines, I didn't find it worth reading. Hopefully Merchant of Venice proves much better.
Danika, I haven't read Twelfth Night, but Merchant of Venice is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays. I really hope you like it.
I'm on book 4 of Dresden Files. There are huge plot things happening, which is all well and good, but I'm still fangirling Thomas from the last book. He is fabulous.
Okay, I just finished Merchant of Venice. My faith in Shakespeare is restored. I've actually been thinking quite a lot about another book I read a while ago, called Shylock's Daughter. It The Merchant of Venice from Shylock and his family's perspective, written by a Jewish woman. It provided an interesting way to examine the events of the story without the same prejudice under which Shakespeare operated. And I'm not sure I'd enjoy a production of Twelfth Night any more than I did the play. It was just so silly, without actually being humorous.

Why, Dandelion Wine, of course.
How about the rest of you?
I second Erin's vote for Merchant of Venice.I was even in a production of it way back just after Shakespeare finished writing it.
Let us know if it meets with your approval Danika.
P.S. Do you think you'd feel more for Twelfth Night if you saw it on stage?
