Been on a bit of a Bee Gees kick. Yes, Bee Gees. Now, before you get all judgemental (Don), let me remind you that Barry Gibb has written more Number One Hits than you can shake a stick at. And, I'd bet that most of you would happily tap along with "Stayin' Alive," "Tragedy," or "Night Fever" if they came on during your work day. And, let's not even get into how you might react to the same songs on the dance floor at a good friend's wedding.
Anyway, we watched a two-hour documentary on the Brothers Gibb this weekend, This Is Where I Came In. I found it very interesting. It was made a few years ago when Maurice (pronounced "Morris") was still alive and has a lot of interview time with their mum. In my opinion, it didn't give enough time to Andy, but it was a Bee Gees documentary not a Family Gibb documentary. Young Andy never was a Bee Gee due to the large age gap between him and the twins (eleven years). Poor Andy.
We also finished up John Adams. The second to last one was really long. The last one was death, death, death. We liked the first two episodes best.
Jim saw a little picture about some bat-like superhero and said it was quite good.
Have you been out to the movies?

We took the youngest two to "Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull" while eldest and two friends watched "Get Smart". Now tell me we are not a cultured family....
Watched "Cloverfield" via Netflix last night. Big scary creature destroying lower Manhattan - what can I say? Style was ala "Blair Witch Project".
I really liked "House of D". Robin Williams is never a disappointment.
I have nothing to say here.
-shakes head sadly-
I am greatly anticipating that little picture Jim saw, which I am planning to see in a very large way at the Imax as soon as I get home. Sadly, ticket prices over here are insane.
Last movie I saw in theaters was Hell Boy II and Hancock. Hellboy II was ok it was really visually interesting, but the story was a bit lacking. Hancock was alot of fun and not what I expected, I really enjoyed the movie. But, my favorite movie of the summer so far is still Wall-E.
Last movie I saw was Wall-E, which I mildly loved to tiny pieces. I'm totally picking up the soundtrack. I really wanna see that movie about Flying Insectivore Mammal Man because I am a sucker for mindless action with an angst garnish.
The mention of the Hellboy movie reminded me: I read not long ago that Guillermo del Toro signed on to direct The Hobbit. I am, to make an understatement, excited about this.
The last movie i went to see was The Dark Knight, which was great of course. I went to see it alone out here in this tiny theater because none of the people on my crew wanted to see this movie. What is wrong with them!
