Last Wednesday in August

We are quickly approaching the start of a new homeschool year for our daughters and and their classmates. My usual reading time is being taken over by lesson planning right now.

I am still reading Eat Pray Love and enjoying it. The section on Indonesia has been full of surprises. The book really does focus on her inner thoughts and spiritual journey. Even though she travels to three amazing places, there isn't a whole lot about her surroundings. Still, I look forward to the few minutes I've been reading it each day.

Loving Frank just ain't gonna make it.

I have an idea for a new feature on Bookstep that might help me through this period of diminished reading time. I'll be introducing it on Monday. Stay tuned.

So I wuz talkin' to my ma, and she sez to me...
"I am reading a book you might enjoy - "Eat Pray Love"..."and she tells me all about it...
And I sez, "Hey Ma, thas what C is reading..."So maybe I'll give it a go when I am done with Three Cups of Tea. Cosmic.

And I'd like to borrow Three Cups of Tea, please. The book, not three real cups of tea.

Oh, I already got her to crack a bit, DRD...but not enough to satisfy :(

Don, I'm so cracked up by your comment, I'm not going to point out your incorrect puncuation. Oh wait...Hmm.

I pity you anyway, Christine. Leaving Martha unsatisfied with an answer can be worse than giving her nothing at all. DRD

Hi Christine! I loved Eat Pray Love. I wonder if there is not much description about her surroundings because she is so focused on looking inside herself, and cleaning that up, that she can't even see the outside world. I have definitely felt like that. Like, if you are having the worst day ever, you might not even notice that the sun is shining. And it doesn't matter anyway, you know?

True, true, Chess. And that's exaactly what the book is about, going within. You wrote me a personal email saying that the author practices yoga where you do. Have you met her?
