Movie Monday II
Just finished Babes on Broadway tonight. Judy Garland does a song in blackface. I was shocked. The finale of the movie is the finale of the characters' stage show that they put on for a big time theater owner and show producer, and the whole thing is a minstrel show. Had to explain it to the girls. Very disappointing.

Like that number in the middle of "Annie, Get Your Gun" where they do tribal dance. And then in the end she weenies out...ugh.
I guess I don't have a big problem with a historical movie taken in context.
Now, "Jewel of the Nile". There's NO excuse for that.
I think hysterical is more accurate - type in "I'm An Indian Too" in YouTube - I know what you mean, though - it was of the time...
