Sorry to have been away so long. It's not been any one thing, really, just general busy-ness. I'm still leafing through big, fat cookbooks and reading some food writing. Not much to write about. You all have been reading some interesting things, however. I made a few phone calls and ran into a few of you at B&N and asked what you were reading. I'll just make your list today's post. Thanks!

After reading the NY Times book review discussing "Kitties on Computers...", I knew that this was both a dangerously under-addressed topic as well as valuable, potential insight into the developing job market in the area of nanofeline technologies. I am hoping Martha finishes up soon, and Bel Canto will just have to take a back seat.
I had to put down The Samurai's Garden by Gail Tsukiyama to read Brittle Necks and Bloody Palms. Did you know that a number of vampires have stigmata? Interpret as you will.
I see Don, as per usual, is the only one reading a book I DON'T want to read... :P
But at least it's not Dilbert.
And Danika, it's lovely to see you giving Austen another shot ;) though admittedly in your favorite format.
Christine, my socks, you have rocked them.
And how.
P.S. Sophia, I will try and hurry, but I have to stop and look up the technology words every now and then. And of course, ogle all the full-color kitty pics!!!
You know, I actually looked it up.
LOL
I fangirl at you, Christine. Mightily.
Danika and Don: I know we agreed to meet on the 7th for the Blind Assassin discussion, but would y'all be opposed to pushing it back a bit? My paternal figure and I are celebrating his day of birth on that date, and I'd hate to miss it. This year we're remember to bake the cake *before* the girl gets in it.
Um. Yeah. That was me in the previous comment. :)
Erin, even *I* knew it was you, and I don't even know you.
*whispers* I think the word "fangirl" gave it away ;)
I tried to leave a comment yesterday and was turned away by Google--twice. I'm not gonna bother trying to log in as my Livejournal username today. Anyway, this was cute, Christine, thanks. Math and food--my two favorite things! This book tastes really good!

Um, well, good effort, Christine, but you forgot my deeply-rooted purist tendencies. Books, once written by their authors, should not be violated by being turned into other formats by unscrupulous folk once their authors have passed on just to make the stories more accessible to the lazy.
Not that I'm judging.
Curse my distinctive word use! *shakes fist*
Consider yourself lucky. Most people get to know me when they discover me clinging to their ankle, courtesy of my bio-adhesive. I'm like a limpet, really.
