I am enjoying the Watchmen
I am totally coming at Monty Python in a backwards way. I have only seen Holy Grail and maybe just a few sketches from their old tv show. I know Palin primarily from his travel writing and travel documentaries.
Now I'm reading about the backstage politics during the height of Monty Python's popularity on tv. Jim and I Netflixed Palin's Personal Best DVD, which is his best sketches from MPFC. We'll watch that this weekend. I looked up the "Dead Parrot Sketch" on YouTube already. But didn't find it funny. At all.
I like Michael Plain as a person very much. And I like him as a writer.
You-you didn't? The Dead Parrot Sketch? I think my heart is weeping a little.
Sorry, DRD. I wanted to like it--was ready to like it. But it fell flat.
