I often have a few books with bookmarks in them at once. I enjoy classics more than contemporary works of fiction, often read historical fiction, and love to get glimpses into other people's lives by reading memoirs and biographies.
I finished this book the other night. I really felt for her. From the outside, it looked like she had so much. She was on the hit show Ally McBeal and was getting some movie roles, and yet, she was miserable trying to hide her eating and purging. Anorexia and bulimia are like mental illnesses in that they seem to skew the way you see things. How else could you look in the mirror at your 90 pound self and see fat? Brava to de Rossi for sharing her experience so candidly. I can only hope that someone will read this book, see themselves and get the help they need.
