I often have a few books with bookmarks in them at once. I enjoy classics more than contemporary works of fiction, often read historical fiction, and love to get glimpses into other people's lives by reading memoirs and biographies.
I'm nearing the end of A Walk in the Woods, which is the Bill Bryson book I put on my Nook for my trip. I'm enjoying it, but I've enjoyed other books of his better. This has a lot of passages that are chiefly composed of statistics of wildlife, hikers, and square feet of wilderness or settled land.
@Danika: I loved Walk in the Woods! It was one of my favorite Brysons! It made me want to walk the Trail myself (thankfully, my aging knees talked some sense into me!)
I understand. It's making me deeply regret that I can barely limp after 13 days walking around on paved roads. I don't stand a chance of hiking an incline for more than a few hours at best.
