Trail of Crumbs
I really enjoyed this memoir by Kim Sunee. She takes the reader inside her love affair with the CEO of L'Occitane, to a handful of countries in her travels, and through meal after meal after meal. And there was even poetry. Sunee is a poet who opens an all-poetry bookshop in Paris. It was the kind of book that I couldn't wait to get back to. I was lucky to get an Advanced Reading Copy; the book won't be released until January.

Always nice to find one of those books that sucks you in--I tend to start reading those (the longer the better) right around finals week. DRD
Is it wrong that my mind can't fathom an all-poetry bookstore? Or, let me perhaps rethink that...a SUCCESSFUL all-poetry bookstore. Hmm, I just felt myself getting wistful. Curses to you, Christine! ;P
Her millionaire lover (founder of L'Occitane) set it all up for her as a dream come true. She ran it. It didn't last long. But can you imagine? In Paris? Wow.
Is it because of her millionaire lover that her book got published too? Nah, surely publishing can't be about who you know...for the MOST part, anyway...
Even I'M not cynical enough to believe THAT...
But seriously folks, it does sound like a nice book. I'm glad the author is no longer an orphan in South Korea, but a Parisian millionairess wife who gets to spend her days writing her poetry and prose. AND who gets all the free L'Occitane en Provence products her heart desires. My, but I am jealous :)
She did have a good life with him, but it wasn't meant to be. Sad. I actually hope they find a way to be together in the future.
